The Polokeho Story

Polokeho’s founder, Eben du Preez, first started his career as a rigger’s assistant at the age of 17 years. He followed in his father’s footsteps, who had dedicated his life to the lifting and rigging industry, and this is where Eben also found his passion.

Twelve years later, the dream of building his own company became a reality when a family friend and business guru, Hendrik Jacobs, invested the needed funds. Al the years of hard work, experience and dedication came together and gave rise to Polokeho Lifting and Testing Services.

The business was established in January 2019 and now operate in the Northern Cape and Gauteng regions with a quali
ed and highly experienced team of Red Seal Riggers, Lifting Machinery Inspectors, and mobile crane operators.

As specialists in all aspects of the mobile crane, rigging and lifting industry, we named our business to describe the basis on which we operate and deliver services – Polokeho means SAFETY, translated from Sesotho.

Polokeho is a Lifting Machinery Entity with the Department of Labour, and we follow all of the department’s Occupational Health & Safety laws. We have two Lifting Machinery Inspectors on staff who are members of the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of South Africa (LEEASA) and the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) (ECSA). Our workforce also includes ten fully qualified and trained Red Seal Rigging teams and mobile crane operators.

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and no job is too big or small for us. We can move boulders and trees, load vehicles, mount signs, build or destroy buildings, assemble industrial machinery, install pipelines, raise a bridge, and anything else that requires heavy lifting and moving.
